Throughout history The City has served as the anchor to all areas of life. The City is economically and culturally diverse serving the communities of business and commerce, science and medicine, arts and entertainment, law and education. This is no different for our own city. Corpus Christi is one of the most vibrant and diverse communities in Texas sitting as the Jewel of the Coastal Bend. Our residents include all demographics: young urban professionals, elderly and low-income families, the affluent and well-established, artists and educators all living, working and playing in the only city in the WORLD named Body of Christ: Corpus Christi. It is here City Church wishes to engage. We want our church community to serve as the symbol of this diversity.

We are committed to going into the city as servants and followers of Jesus Christ.

Vision for Our City:

  • Through Education, the hearts and minds of our city will be stirred and challenged,
    not dulled and calloused.
  • Through the Arts the culture and beauty of our city will be engaged and redeemed,
    not denigrated or dismissed.
  • Through ministries of mercy the needs and blemishes of our city will be addressed
and served, not avoided or excused.

“Some hunger for beauty and seek to find it in the arts while others hunger for answers and pursue intellectual endeavors. Still others are hungry for moral realities trying to solve the problems of right and wrong and yet still others hunger for love hoping to find satisfaction through sex and relationships. But no matter what the hunger all people for all time have cried out the same way essentially saying, “I’m starving.” As long as man continues to look for sustenance apart from God his hunger in life will remain.”

~ Francis Schaeffer
The City

How are we going to fulfill our mission here at our church? Recognizing that any other church could take our mission statement and give it their own style and culture, what will this mission look like at City Church-Corpus Christi?

By proclaiming and living out the Gospel message of Grace, with each other and our city, we hope to bring about personal changes in our lives, social healing to the disenfranchised, and cultural renewal to our city through involvement in education, the arts, and ministries of mercy.
