“Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God's children. I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together. This is our hope. With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.”
~ Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The Church
Our Mission is to glorify God through worship and witness as we strive to become a Christ-centered community committed to serving and renewing our city through the Gospel message of Grace.
Throughout history the Church has served not as a product to be chosen and consumed like much of our current culture, rather the Church has served as a hospital for the infirmed, an academy for the student, a stage for the artist. To put it another way, the Church has been holistic in her care to both believer and non-believer alike. This is the hope we have for our church.
Vision for The Church:
-
God's glory is sought, acclaimed, and worshipped in and through all we do.
-
The Gospel of free grace saturates and permeates all we teach, plan, and practice.
-
Seekers, skeptics, and sinners of all stripes are regularly brought to new life and freedom in Christ through the power of the free grace of the Gospel.
-
The full giftedness and diversity of the members are brought to bear on the life of our church and the fabric of our culture.
-
Relationships are given a priority over programs and pursued organically and dynamically without compulsion or contrivance.
