Sermon Title: “Peace with God”
Scripture: Colossians 1:18–23
📖 Message Summary
We live in an age filled with constant information, demands, and interruptions. In the middle of all this noise, we naturally long for peace. Yet Scripture teaches that we cannot truly know the peace of God until we first have peace with God.
Humanity once enjoyed harmony with God, ourselves, and our purpose. Sin shattered that peace and separated us from God. Throughout Scripture, God’s covenants offered glimpses of restored peace, but human sin continually undermined them. The Gospel announces something far greater: through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God has acted decisively to reconcile us to Himself.
On the cross, Jesus endured the judgment our sin deserved. The punishment was borne and the penalty was paid so that, through repentance and faith, we can be brought back into God’s presence. In Christ, believers stand before God holy, blameless, and without fault—not because of their own goodness, but because of what Jesus has accomplished.
Peace with God is a gift of salvation, but we must continue believing this truth and standing firmly in it. The pressures and currents of life will tempt us to drift from the assurance of the Gospel. No matter how much intrusion or turmoil comes our way, Christ continues to say, “I am your peace.”

Peace with God comes before the peace of God.

What pressures or distractions are causing me to drift from the assurance of the Gospel?
How might Jesus be reminding me today, “I am your peace”?
